If you compare Krakow to a book, then its title page would be the Royal Way. This was the route into the city once taken by monarchs, their envoys and wealthy merchants’ wagons. We invite you to retrace their steps today. The route starts at the Barbican fortification and the Florian Gate. The next sight on the way is the main Market Square with Cloth Hall and St. Mary’s Basilica. In the University district you will visit the oldest buildings belonging to Jagellonian University: Collegium Maius and Collegium Novum. After that you will pass down Francyskanska street to the Bishop's Palace with John Paul II window - ‘Papal Window’ and visit a Franciscan Church. The final point is Wawel Hill with Wawel Cathedral and Wawel Royal Castle.
